Fourth Annual After Work Summer Flute Camp

A Music Camp for the Busy Professional
July 19 - July 23 7:00 - 9:30 PM

Most of us would like to take a vacation and go to an exotic location for a week of flute playing and music. But we are so busy with work and family and we can’t use
our precious hours of annual leave to go to camp. The Adult Summer Camp was designed by the Flute Society of Washington to give the busy adult amateur flutist a summer camp in the evening.
The camp is:
• A chance to play, practice, and study with other adult amateurs
• A chance to meet new flute playing friends
• A chance to develop further as a flutist, “to kick it up a notch”

This year the Camp will feature two exceptional artists as coaches. Noted recitalist and teacher and flute choir specialist Rhonda Bowen will direct the summer camp flute choir, which will perform a concert for family and friends on Friday evening.

Keith Hanlon, will coach small ensemble playing. Keith has served as a military musician in the U.S. Army and was former principal piccolo and associate principal flute with the 33rd Army Band in Heidelberg, Germany. Keith has been a member of the Keystone Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Jack Stamp, since 1998 and can be heard with the ensemble on the Klavier and Citadel labels. Keith earned his B.A. in Music from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and his M.M. from Virginia Commonwealth University in flute performance.

The camp will be held at the Chevy Chase Presbyterian
Church on Chevy Chase Circle in Washington DC. There is
ample parking available and the Friendship Heights Metro Station is a short ride away.

Tuition: $125 for FSW Full and Life Members

Non-FSW members: $140 includes fee and 2010 full membership dues.
