2019 Mid-Atlantic Junior Choir

Concert, Saturday, 6 pm, February 16, 2019

The Junior Choir offers advanced young flutists, who are in grades 6 through 8 and 

study privately, an opportunity to perform at the Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention as well as 

offer an introduction to the High School Flute Choir. Students are able to meet and work 

with the composer of the composition performed. The choir is limited to 30 students.

  • Each student should discuss participation with their private teacher before filling out the online application. 
  • Participation will be based on the recommendation of the student’s private flute teacher, and seating will be based on a one minute sample of student’s choice.  
  • The private flute teacher is able to recommend up to three(3) of their students.
  • The teacher must fill out an online recommendation form.
  • The student must work on the music with their private teacher, and learn it in advance of the Saturday rehearsal.
  • All students will be on C flutes.
  • Parts will be assigned and emailed to the teacher.
  • There will be a two and a half hour rehearsal Saturday morning.
  • The Junior Choir performance will be Saturday evening before the Festival Choir.
  • There is no application fee.
  • Teacher and student must be a FSW member. If invited, the student must register for the 2019 Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention by January 20, 2019.
