“Music Together Wherever”

2021 Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention

Deadline for submission is Sunday, November 1 at 7:00 pm EST

With the world’s situation as it currently is, coming together in person in February for the Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention is not prudent, so we will be together, wherever we are, virtually. Our goal is to present a virtual convention that as closely as possible mirrors what we have come to know and love about MAFC, while allowing flutists from around the world to participate without leaving the safety of their home. We will have recitals, workshops, competitions, flute choir showcase, a virtual exhibit hall, and our usual amazing guest artists.

Proposals are now being accepted through November 1. The types of events being requested are pre-recorded performances, pre-recorded lectures and lecture/recitals, pre-recorded lecture with live Q&A,   live workshops/topic demonstrations, and live panel discussions. Live events will be held via an online videoconferencing platform. All pre-recorded events must not have been previously posted or published on social media or elsewhere.  The maximum time to be allotted is 30 minutes, with some exceptions for lectures plus Q&A extending to 45 minutes. Proposals for full programs as well as single pieces are being accepted. If the proposal is for a pre-recorded event, we ask that a short 1-2 minute example showing your recording quality be submitted. All recordings to be used for the convention must be received no later than Monday, February 1, 2021.
