DCFlutes Auditions

DCFlutes, the official adult flute ensemble of The Flute Society of Washington, announces openings for the upcoming season.

Auditions are planned for Tuesday, August 30, at 7:15 pm at St Columba’s Episcopal Church, 4201 Albemarle St NW, Washington DC. DCFlutes is directed by National Symphony Orchestra principal flute Aaron Goldman and renowned conductor and flutist Sandra Ragusa. The group, comprised of approximately 28 advanced to professional level flutists from throughout the metro DC area, performs at various events which have included the National Flute Association Annual Convention, Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention, the New York Flute Fair, the International Low Flutes Festival, Richmond Flute Fair, UVA Flute Forum, and the Columbia Flute Choir Festival, with more events being added.

Rehearsals take place approximately every other Tuesday evening in Tenleytown, DC. If interested in auditioning please contact Laura Benning, DCFlutes manager.  Please provide a summary of your playing experience, and also state whether you are willing to play alto, bass, or contrabass flute. The audition should include two contrasting examples of your playing ability.
